The Story of Lutung Kasarung

Once upon a time in West Java there was a kingdom was leaded by kind and wise king. His name was Prabu Tapa Agung. Prabu Tapa Agung was an old king. He had two daughters, Purbararang and Purbasari.Purbararang was arogant, selfish and cruel girl, but Purbasari was smart, kind and beautiful girl. Prabu Tapa Agung planned to retire as a king. He wanted Purbasari to replace him as the leader of the Kingdom. Hearing this, Purbararang was angry.
"You can't asked her to be the queen, Dad. I'm older than she is. It's supposed to be me, not her!" said Purbararang. But the king still choose Purbasari to be the next queen.
Then, Purbararang set a tricky trap with her fiance, Indrajaya. They went to a Witch and asked her to put spell on Purbasari.
Purbararang         : Witch, could you help me please??
Witch                   : Oh, yeah.. What could I am going to do? And I could do everything..
Purbararang         : Okey, help me to make Purbasari became ugly girl.
Witch                   : ( meminta uang )
Purbararang         :What happen?? Money??
Witch                   : Yaps,,... That’s right.
Purbararang         : In your brain is only money, money, and money.
Witch                   :Oooh, I could not lived without money you known.
Purbararang         : Just shut up Witch, do now, and it’s money to you.
Witch                   : Thanks Purbararang..
Purbararang         : Hmmm
          Later, Purbasari had bad skin. There black dits all over her body.
"You aren't as beautiful as I am. You can't be the queen. You have to leave this palace and stay in a jungle," said Purbararag.
Purbasari was very sad. Now, she had to stay in the jungle. Every day, she spent her time to playing with some animals there. There was one monkey that always tried to cheer her up. It was not just an ordinary monkey, he had magical power. And he also talk with humans. The monkey's name was Lutung Kasarung. He was actually a god. His name was Sanghyang Guruminda. Once day in the jungle Lutung Kasarung looked Purbasari was sad.
LK               : Don’t sad and be cried. What happens Purbasari, why you cried??
Purbasari    : I missed my father.
LK               : Oohh.. Never mind Purbasari believed it to God. Got will always protect your father. Now,, keep smile.
Purbasari    : ( smile )
          Lutung Kasarung planned to help Purbasari, he made a small lake and asked her to take a bath there. Amazingly, her bad skin was cured. Now, she got her beautiful skin back.
After that, she asked Lutung Kasarung to accompany her to go back the palace.
Purbasari    : May you together with me to back palace.
LK               : Oh no Thanks.
Purbasari    : Why?
LK               : I lived in the forest not in palace.
Purbasari    : Please??
LK               : Okey, if you want it.
Purbasari    : Yeah.. Thanks Lutung Kasarung.
          Purbararang was shocked. She knew she had to come up with another bad idea. Then, she said, "Those who longer hair will be the queen."
The king then measured his daughter's hair. Purbasari had longer hair. But Purbararang didn't give up. "A queen must have a handsome husband. If my fiance more handsome than yours, then I will be the queen," said Purbararang.
Purbasari was sad. She knew Purbararng's fiance, Indrajaya, was handsome. And she didn't have a fiance yet. "Here my fiance, Indrajaya. Where is yours?" asked Purbararang. Lutung Kasarung come forward. Purbararang laughing very hard, "Your fiance is a monkey, ha ha ha. . ."
Suddenly, Lutung Kasarung changed into a very handsome man. He was more handsome than Indrajaya. Purbasari then become the queen. She forgave Purbararang and her fiance and let them stay in the palace.
